Meet Chris

I’m Chris Aggenbach, I’m a second generation polished concrete contractor. Our story starts in the late 90’s, when my father, Bill, stumbled across an advertisement for King Concepts in a flooring magazine. They were advertising a revolution! A machine that could turn concrete in a work of art!

At the time my father was more interested in its floor preparation capabilities. Dad dragged his push behind PG680, generator and vac in a hired trailer for some years, until he finally bit the bullet and bought a truck. The steps were small, but they carved a pathway for our success.

It was about this time that the Vanderveen’s suggested maybe Bill have a look at polished concrete. Dad was in ore, he is such a methodical man, and the process really ticked dads boxes.

I recently listened to a podcast, with another young contractor talking about his father being a pioneer of polished concrete. This rings very true to me, I couldn’t have said it better.

Often Tim Vanderveen would send things to dad, “Bill, try these tools out, use them like this, tell me what you think”. Dad’s Dutch, like the Vanderveens, so many discussions were frank and to the point, but always constructive. He along with maybe two others in the area pushed machines, polished floor after floor after floor refining, learning and help to create the process we know today, and that’s something that makes us very proud.

In the past 20 years things have changed rapidly! Machines became remote controlled, diamond tooling has become more advanced, and the process more and more refined.

I learnt the art in 2014 from the Vanderveen’s new business Worx+, This is where I was introduced to the world of mechanically polished concrete, I was taken by it as well.

I’m a chef by trade, so the method sits well with me, no different to a recipe. I took the remote from my father full time in 2021, and perused to continue his legacy and building on our experience, offer more solutions in the polished concrete, epoxy coatings, micro-cement and floor preparation.
